Volunteer Opportunities
Day Camp Volunteers
Are you playful, thoughtful, curious, and friendly? Camp volunteers help children work with the arts, inventions, flight, experiments, fun and games. What do day camp volunteers do? Camp volunteers help children learn through playing. Volunteers also help maintain a safe, positive, and fun learning environment.
Special Events and Create It! Take It! Workshop Volunteers
Outgoing and friendly volunteers are needed for special events including Halloween Hurrah!, Make Believe Midnight, Super Hero Day, and the Museum's summer concert series Music & Mozzarella. Volunteer opportunities for workshops include Stuff A Scarecrow and Candy House Funshop. All volunteers must be willing to help during the event/workshop and contribute to preparations and clean up.
Youth Volunteers (12-16)
Youth Volunteers will focus on assisting with the Museum’s Summer Camp program. Youth Volunteers gain experience in the areas of education, leadership, teamwork, and responsibility by assisting with educational activities and programming for the Museum’s Summer Camp program, while at the same time, enjoying the power of play at the Lincoln Children's Museum.
To be a part of the Youth Volunteer program candidates must complete and submit the Youth Volunteer Application, along with a $50.00 processing fee. There are a limited number of youth volunteer opportunities and priority will be given to Museum members.
The Summer Youth Volunteer program runs from June 14 to August 17, Monday through Friday from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm or 12:30 - 4:30 pm. Youth volunteers will be required to work two shifts a week.
