Camp: Frequently Asked Questions
What time is camp?
Camp starts each day at 9:00 am and ends at 4:00 pm. Children can be brought to the Museum entry no more than 10 minutes before the beginning of camp or they can be dropped off early and picked up late from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm for an extra fee of $5.00 each. All children should be signed in at the Welcome Desk by an authorized parent or guardian, and must be signed out by an authorized parent or guardian by showing their I.D.
When do campers need to register?
The registration deadline for each camp is one week prior to the first day of that camp.
What do campers do for lunch?
Campers are asked to bring a sack lunch each day. We will provide an afternoon snack. A microwave and refrigerator are available, and staff will help the children use these safely.
Do I need to pay for camp now?
We ask that you give full payment for each one-day camp and a $50 deposit for each week camp to hold your spot.
What age group are camps designed for?
Camps are for children who have completed Kindergarten through 5th grade.
What if camps have low attendance?
Camps are subject to cancellation if camp attendance is less than 10 children. Participants will be notified and camp fees will be refunded.
Can I get a refund if my child is unable to attend camp?
In case of a medical emergency, the child can transfer to another session, if available. Fees can be refunded upon written confirmation by a doctor. All fees are refundable except a deposit ($50 deposit for week-long Camps, one-day payments). Fees are forfeited if leaving camp session for non-medical reasons.
What if I need to contact my child during camp?
Parents may call the Museum any time at 477-0128.
What is the ratio of adults to children?
Our ratio of adults to children is more than one adult per five children.
Are there any camp discounts?
We offer discounts with a membership as well as a $10 discount for registering with a friend or sibling for the same week-long camp. Please see the registration form for more details. |
