Help children discover the power of play by volunteering with the Lincoln Children's Museum. Reliable and dependable adult volunteers are always needed to help with camps, workshops, overnights, daily tasks, and special events. Volunteers are required to commit to at least a one-hour shift. Volunteers age 12-18 are encouraged to participate in the Volunteen program.

Anyone 18 or under must have their background check form notarized and signed by a parent or guardian. If you are college student and live away from home you will still have to have your parents print it out, sign it, and send it to you via mail or email. This is due to required state law. If you have questions you can call 407-477-4000 ext: 105 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please bring an I.D. when you drop off your application.
How long does the application process take?
Once we get your application, we will submit your DHHS form for a background check. Those usually take 7-9 business days to get back. Once your background check is approved, orientation will be scheduled.
What are the volunteering hours?
We have volunteering availability during our normal business hours:
Sun: 1 pm - 5 pm
Tues-Sat: 9:30 am – 5 pm with extended hours until 8 pm on Thursday
We also have events outside of museum hours.
*Mondays, when we are closed (during the LPS school year) we often have camps, cleaning days or other projects.
How many hours can I volunteer in a week?
Volunteers sign-up for their own hours. Sign up is first-come, first-serve so sign up early to get the dates, times and tasks that suit your schedule best.
What types of tasks do volunteers do at the Lincoln Children’s Museum?
There are many opportunities for volunteers. We like our volunteers to let us know where they think that they would be the most helpful. Whether it’s helping in the administrative office, mending costumes, cleaning, helping with special events and camps, prep work for camps or assisting with our mascot, Twinkle! There is so much to do here and we couldn’t do it all without the help of our volunteers.
